






Solar Universe (Pvt) Ltd. 10 MW Solar Plant
WindForce has obtained one-third of the equity ownership of Solar Universe (Pvt) Ltd. through a share purchase. In partnership with Vidulanka PLC and Hienergy Services (Pvt) Ltd, approval was given to Solar Universe to develop a 10 MW ground-mounted solar power plant in Vavunathivu, Southwest of Batticaloa, Sri Lanka. The relevant power purchasing agreement was signed with the Ceylon Electricity Board. The anticipated total project cost is approximately Rs. 1.4 billion and the plant is set to be commissioned in early 2022.
Hiruras Power (Pvt) Ltd. Wind Power Plants
The proposed wind power plants with capacities of 10MW and 5MW will be located in the Mannar district of Sri Lanka. The project is expected to have a Plant Load Factor of 45% as it is located in an area with high wind density. The project has been already awarded to WindForce; we are currently waiting for the relevant authorities to finalize the award. WindForce intends to commence construction towards the end of 2021 and complete the project by end 2022. The land required for the project will be leased from the Sri Lankan government for a period of 30 years. The legal entity – Hiruras Power (Pvt) Ltd. has already been formed to undertake the project.
The new wind power plants will increase the installed capacity of WindForce’s wind energy portfolio to 84.2MW.

30MW Solar Power Plant + 7.5MW BESS
The development of a 30MW solar power plant near Mbacke, Senegal has been proposed. The plant is expected to have a Plant Load Factor of 22%. The project is now in the advanced negotiations stage. It will be executed in partnership with Vidullanka PLC, who has experience operating in the African region. Electricity generated from the plant will be sold to Senegal National Electricity Company (SENELEC) for a period of 25 years. Approvals from relevant authorities are expected within the next six months. The project is estimated for completion in the third quarter of 2022. The land required will be leased from Orientis Senegal S.A. for 25 years.
With the addition of this new solar power plant, the installed capacity of the WindForce’s solar energy portfolio will be 152.5MW.
