WindForce Ltd. has constructed and currently operate a number of mini hydro power plants across several locations in Sri Lanka. The company has also expanded to Uganda and has established 2 mini hydro power plants in the country.

Energy Reclamation The Seethagala mini hydro power plant project under Energy Reclamation Pvt. Ltd has an installed capacity of 0.8MW. Upon completion of its commercial term in 2019, the plant was recommissioned by CEB for another commercial term. The open-air type right bank power plant has 5m3/s design flow & 21m net head to provide 40% annual plant factor. The project was first commissioned in April 2004.

Halwatura Ganga Mini Hydro Power Plant Located in UdaMalibada, Deraniyagala, in the Sabaragamura province of Sri Lanka, the Halwatura Ganga mini hydro power plant is a project under Terraqua International (Pvt) Ltd. The plant has a total capacity of 1.3MW. The open air type right bank power plant has 0.8m3/s design flow & 185m net head head to provide 46% annual plant factor. The project was commissioned in February 2009.

Gurugoda Oya Mini Hydro Power Plant The Ganthuna Udagama mini-hydro power project is situated in Ganthuna, Aranayake, Kegalle District of Sri Lanka. It has an installed capacity of 1.2MW. The open air type right bank power plant has 0.65m3/s design flow & 220m net head to provide 40% annual plant factor. This project was commissioned in March 2010.

Upper Kokawita Mini Hydro Power Plant The Kokawita mini hydro power plant is a completed project located in Kokawita, Kalawana. It has an installed capacity of 1.2MW. The open air type right bank power plant has 9m3/s design flow & 17m net head to provide 34% annual plant factor. This project was commissioned in June 2012.

Bulathwatta Mini Hydro Power Plant The Melanka Power Moraketiya (Pvt) Ltd. mini hydro power project was constructed in Bulathwatta, Haputale Division within the Haldummulla Divisional Secretariat of the Badulla district. The plant has a total capacity of 3.8MW. The open air type right bank power plant has 3.8m3/s design flow & 117m net head to provide 35% annual plant factor. The project was commissioned in February 2014.

Madugeta Mini Hydro Power Plant This mini hydro project was constructed under Vidul Madugeta (Pvt) Ltd. and is located in Madugeta, Neluwa, in the southern province of Sri Lanka. This is a 2.5MW project which commenced construction in March 2012. The open air type right bank power plant has 21.8m3/s design flow & 15m net head to provide 40% annual plant factor. The plant was commissioned in November 2013.

Dambulu Oya Reservoir Mini Hydro Power Plant This power plant is located close to the Dambulu Oya reservoir in Sri Lanka, which is situated in Dambulla in the Central Province. This is a 3.25MW project with an annual energy output of 16.5 GWh. The identified location of the intake is on the Dambulu Oya Reservoir and power is generated through released out flow to Kalawewa. The design flow of the plant is 27m3/s and the plant factor is 52%. The project was commissioned in December 2016.

Maskeli Oya Mini Hydro Power Plant The Maskeli Oya mini hydro power plant is situated in Maskeliya, a town in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. It was constructed under Peak Power Delta (Pvt) Ltd. This is a 2.0MW project with an annual energy output of 7.5 GWh. The project was commissioned in May 2016. The open air type right bank power plant has 4.5m3/s design flow & 56m net head to provide 42% annual plant factor.

Mahoma Uganda Hydro Power Plant The Mahoma Small Hydro Power Project is located in the Burahya Sub-county in Kabarole district. This project has a capacity of 2.7MW. It operates by diverting water from the Mahoma River with a head of 100 meters with a design flow of2.7 m3/s to generate with 45% plant factor. The project was commissioned in October 2018.

Kyambura Mini Hydro Power Plant The Kyambura Small Hydro Power Plant is located on the Kyambura River in Rubiziri district in South-western Uganda. The plant was commissioned in July 2019. The key project structures comprise a concrete flow diversion weir and intake, a 2.7 km headrace canal, incorporating a settling basin tank, forebay, 0.95 km of penstock, and a surface power station. The power station has a combined installed capacity of 7.6 MW and an estimated plant factor of 52%. The plant was commissioned in July 2019.
