WindForce commissioned the first private wind power plant in Sri Lanka, and now has 7 plants generating a total of 194.7 GWh annually. The plants additionally save a collective of 138,200MT of CO2 emissions, and are located across Sri Lanka. This has resulted in WindForce PLC being Sri Lanka’s leading supplier and facilitator of wind power for over a decade.

SEGUWANTIVU WIND POWER 9.6 MW

WindForce PLC fully owns the Seguwantivu wind power (Pvt)Ltd. plant, which was commissioned in May 2010, and is located in Puttalam, Sri Lanka. The plant has a total capacity of 9.6 MW, and generates an average of 25 GWh annually. In addition, the plant saves 17,700 MT of CO2 emissions.

NIRMALAPURA WIND POWER 10 MW
The wind power plant is located on the west coast of Nirmalapura, which is located in the Puttalam district of Sri Lanka. The plant consists of 7 wind turbines and is connected to Norochcholai 200 kV GIS through a 75 MVA, 33/200 kV GIS substation. The project was financed by WindForce along with Hayleys Industrial Solutions and WindForce has a 40% stake in the plant. The plant was commissioned in July of 2012. It generates 29.4 GWh of energy per year and saves 20,900 MT of CO2 emissions.
